About Me
I was raised Roman Catholic. Participating in a young adult group at my local church after college, I met some great friends, but I think I took my increasing faith too seriously because I didn't want to socialize with anyone who wasn't also very into Christianity. For whatever reasons, I stopped participating in the Catholic Church for two decades. After the first decade or so I took the seminars at Landmark Education which I found to have enlightened me to a certain extent. I did not like being quasi-agnostic though, as Landmark Education http://landmarkeducation.com is not a religion, and some parts of their courses can be theologically confusing, and so recently I have started participating in Religious Science. I don't have a problem with the Catholic Church, with some exceptions, such as the Nicene Creed, which seems to refute other faiths. I wanted to graduate into something that was more all-encompassing to all the major religions, and that would provide continuity and resolution to the bootcamp-like enlightenment experience I got from Landmark Education. I am just now taking Religious Science's Foundational Course Winter 2008. I still have an interest in Jesus' teachings, including from the point of view of the so called "original" Christianity, which would include reading the gnostic Christian gospels. If you are raised with Jesus's teachings, they will always be a part of you, IMO. I'll admit that at times I do miss the Catholic Church with it's focus on Jesus. I am also interested in learning about other religions and in seeing what they have in common with what I have learned in Christianity and Religious Science.
