About Me

I am recently single and am looking forward to connecting to other like minded people. I am a professional symphony violist and also teach private violin and viola lessons. I have written two books on parenting and wrote parenting columns for several newspapers. I am a very happy, optimistic and upbeat person, love to learn from hearing about other people's life experiences and enjoy discussions and lively debates on many topics. I have two sons, ages 18 and 12. My older son is about to go to college to study pre law. They are both violinists, too.

I like the liberty photo and need some advice - July 18, 2008 - 06:02 PM

I know as a teacher you have seen this before, but my teenage daughter started to play the violin and really worked at it for about six months and started to play to where the songs and notes were clear. She practiced about 1 to 2 hours a night making good progress acording to her teacher. She asked if she could have her own instrument so I bought her a new violin and in two weeks she quit! Leah has been playing the piano since she could reach the pedals on the floor as did her Mom that went to the Marlborough School of Music in Vermont. I have talked to her about picking it up again but there is no way, any advice would help. Maybe I should give it a try.

How very wonderful to hear that you are recently single and yet your current mood is Joyful. Don't hear many women say this. I also wish to interect with others with similar interests. I'm new at this and feel very excited about meeting the kind of people I am finding here.

Hi, it's nice to read about someone from the DFW area. That is wonderful about being a violist and a writer. Love your music taste and your interests such as history, holistic living, environment, fitness and health food. You sound very positive and that is a great attribute to have. Congrats about your son going into pre-law. Hope we can keep in touch and talk about sprituality and other topics. Take care!
