About Me
Hi, I'm a history book writer from Canada. I grew up Christian and married a Muslim woman. For me, that means I'm a Jew plus a Christian plus a Muslim. And as some Sufi guy in Palestine reportedly said, "Prophets don't fight over which one is greatest. Only their more petty followers fight over who is the greatest".
I recently wrote a book called "Different Visions of Love: Partnership and Dominator Values in Christian History". It tries to look at the course of events in Christian history using Riane Eisler's insights about the competition between different kinds of values -- some appropriate to relations of partnership, and some appropriate to relations of domination. The book is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and in paper or as an e-book at http://outskirtspress.com/briangriffith .
Before that I wrote a book called "The Gardens of Their Dreams: Desertification and Culture in World History". It's about the social consequences for societies which have slowly turned their environments into barren deserts over the past few thousand years.
Anyway, I hope to meet and talk with many of you about our shared concerns.
