Over the years I have spent time researching different religions, trying to figure out where I fit in with the grand scheme of things. I was raised Christian and after spending many years forcing myself to be Christian, I finally realized that I needed to stop pretending. My parents did nothing wrong and neither did the church. For a year I have considered myself Wiccan, focusing mostly on the spiritual side of it and not much in the practice of spells. Now that I have spent time researching the different paths, I prefer to call myself a hedgewitch. One major thing that prompted that decision is that I see no reason practicing magic in self-defense.

My reason for coming to beliefnet is that I like being able to come to a single website to find out about multiple faiths and resources for multiple faiths. I've also enjoyed the conversations that I've found on the message boards. Currently, I want to continue being a part of the community because I feel the need to reach out to more people in my faith instead of staying by myself. Hopefully, I can find someone to email and chat with about some of the spiritual issues that I am dealing with now. However, if anyone would like someone to chat with about anything, please feel free to send me a message. I love meeting new people.

Here's a little bit about myself: I am an avid reader and love receiving book recommendations. My favorite subjects for books are philosophy, science fiction, fantasy, and classics. I also write poetry and am working towards writing short stories so I can eventually work my way up to a novella. Movies are a big thing for me since its a big activity with my family.
